“You’re growing up and you go, ‘I want to be on the front of a Wheaties box, I want to be on the front of a Topps card, you want to be on the Body Issue” — Nationals OF Bryce Harper
Scrub a dub dub.
If you didn’t know, now you know — Washington Nationals OF Bryce Harper is STRAIGHT RIPPED, as evidenced by his spot on the cover of ESPN’s 2015 Body Issue, their annual showcase of the year’s most Adonis-esque physiques from across the world of sports.
For someone who looks so lean and limber—he’s built like an oak tree at a 6’2, 220—Bryce Harper squats a massive 405 and power cleans 375. Huge numbers for a sport that’s dependent on core strength and lower body power.
What’s his secret ingredient? A few things.
Workout passionately. Eat 5-6 meals a day. Start with a protein-jacked breakfast in the form of eggs and egg whites. Down copious fish. CHEAT. With ice cream.
“When I work out, I eat about six meals a day,” Harper said. “In the mornings, I’ll do six egg whites and two full eggs. Two meals of fish and then by the end of the night, proteins and greens again. I don’t care what nobody says, as much as they stay on track, they still eat ice cream and donuts. I love ice cream. I love donuts.”
Fitness life lessons from the already legendary Bryce Harper.
If this all sounds familiar, you might remember Hilary Knight, a standout from the US National Women’s Hockey Team, who dominated the edition in 2014 with her killer physique.
The rest of ESPN’s Body Issue drops online July 6th and hits newsstands July 10th.

When he’s not working on his (or somebody else’s) abs, whipping up Eggocados, or running a Tough Mudder, he’s probably off yelling at a Carolina Panthers game somewhere.
