Bryan (LIUP) replied to the topic Atrophying Muscles (quads and glutes) in the forum General 6 months ago
Hey Maddie — The only real way to atrophy a muscle in a healthy way is to neglect it.
If you’re concerned about overdeveloped quads and glutes, stop lower body training for a while or reduce workout intensity (keep it at lighter weight/higher reps, or do exclusively cardio) and focus more intently on other body parts (abs, back, upper body,…[Read more]

Hey Spaceman — Thanks so much for the kind words, I’m really psyched that you’ve been seeing strong gains and results.
That’s funny, June’s WOTM is actually tee’d up to be another 3-4 day split. Specifics are still in development, but it’ll provide you with an alternative to the New Year’s split.
Hang tight for a few more days.
You can also…[Read more]

Hey Cristina — Really sorry for getting back to you so late, I must’ve missed this.
As far as exercise goes, have you looked into ClassPass? It’s an awesome way to experiment with a variety of diff. group classes, and do it with friends. It might be a great way for you to explore and figure out what type of workout you like best (I can’t stand…[Read more]

Stay tuned until then. And yes, all progress in February counts :).

Whats up J —
I’ll answer everything in order.
1. Give this article a read — it’s older, but it addresses the entire protein market/dilemma directly, and I tore up the top 150+ powders in the process. In short, it’ll depend on your personal use case and dietary tolerances (e.g. lactose intolerance), but I love and personally use Nutrafusion…[Read more]

Hey Tee — I moved this to it’s own topic just to make things simpler.
I just checked the 11/2014 WOTM and it’s loading each workout (B/C/D) for me. Try giving it another shot — we’ve had a few tech issues lately, so it’s possible that was the problem. Everything should be up and running now without any issues.
Let me know how you make out, and…[Read more]

LOVE you customizations (how healthy and interesting) — that looks bomb. Pictures can always wait :). I actually started using yellow/orange peppers, too, and love how it comes out.
You got it, glad you finally made it!

Hey Natasha! Thanks so much for the kind words.
Definitely give this a read, it should answer your question in detail: https://www.leanit-up.com/the-six-pack-abs-shopping-list/
In terms of a framework, it’s pretty simple. *Most* of the time, try to eat:
- Lean protein (fish, chicken, eggs, Greek yogurt, etc.)
- Tons of veggies
- Fruit
- Healthy fats…

Bryan (LIUP) replied to the topic [WOTM, 08/2013] The Newbie’s Workout Plan in the forum Muscle It UP 10 months ago
Hey Ashlyn!
Absolutely. Workouts A & B are definitely your priorities, so focus on those with the time you do have to workout. Your biking more than makes up for the cardio day.
Follow that for a few weeks/month and monitor your progress. If you feel like you want to speed things up, try adding 1-2 HIIT sessions per week. Other than that you…[Read more]

Hey Janandrin,
To keep this as simple as possible — no. Go with any Creatine Monohydrate that’s cheap and pure, “designer” versions of creatine really haven’t been proven to offer any substantial benefit over CM.
You can usually pick up a huge jug for like $10, which is why it’s such a great supplement. Cheap, effective, easy to use. Mix it with…[Read more]

Bryan (LIUP) replied to the topic Wrist Injury in the forum Ask Me Anything 10 months, 3 weeks ago
You got it! Every injury is different (tendonitis has a wide range of severity), but I did what you did and tried to lift on it even with the injury. That alone probably set me back a month.
Once I actually took off all weight and let it rest, ~2-3 weeks to be back 100%. You might heal faster/slower than that, just play it as it goes.
