Atrophying Muscles (quads and glutes)

    I have overdeveloped quadricep and “butt” muscles from figure skating.  Does anyone know how I can atrophy these muscles in a healthy way?

    Hey Maddie — The only real way to atrophy a muscle in a healthy way is to neglect it.

    If you’re concerned about overdeveloped quads and glutes, stop lower body training for a while or reduce workout intensity (keep it at lighter weight/higher reps, or do exclusively cardio) and focus more intently on other body parts (abs, back, upper body, cardio, etc…).

    That said, there’s only so much you can expect after years of training and building up impressive strength and musculature. Try to learn to love your body for its strengths!
