The Illustrated Guide(s) to Over Complicated Coffee Drinks [Infographic]

It’s a concrete fact — we love coffee to death, and we love coffee drinks even more. 54% of Americans over the age of 18 drink some form of coffee daily, with the average consumption rolling in at ~ 3.1 cups every day.¹
Good thing a HUGE 400,000 + person study recently found that drinking up to 6 cups per day can actually decrease the risk of death by up to 16%. Whoop…drink on!
All that aside, my real java question is: why does coffee have to be so ridonkulously complicated!? I walked into Starbucks the other day and this mind-boggling cat woman ordered a — verbatim — “venti-skinny-red eye-wet-chai-with-four-pumps-of-syrup.“
Um…about that. The cashier was on with me.
If you’re like me and religiously support team espresso/drip/iced coffee/Keurig, the following visual guides help differentiate a cafe Breve from a caffé Latte (besides the extra f), macchiato from a cappuccino, and then from an americano, winding all the way back to the Irish variant.
