The Degree #GetMoving Challenge Week 2 — MAX OUT Your Body With Explosive Lunges, Push Ups, & Squats

Aaaaaaaaaaaaand we’re off.
After a relatively simple week one—walk 12,500 steps/day—the Degree #GetMoving Challenge cranks it up a notch, increases the intensity, and brings a little sizzle with week 2’s MAX OUT challenge.
This week, it’s all about SPEED and OUTPUT, in the form of incendiary, explosive time trials that’ll test your aerobic fitness, burn out your muscles, and inspire a little competitive spirit.
Get ready to MAX OUT.
The Degree #GetMoving Challenge Week 2 — MAX OUT
Week 2 is all about breaking limits and exceeding personal bests. Here’s how it goes down.
- YOUR TASK: In 1 minute, pump out as many lunges as possible and record your output (a gym timer helps).
- Afterwards, do the same thing with ab planks, squats, and push-ups in similar 1-minute intervals. Perform the challenge 4 times during the week and CRUSH your previous best each time. We expect killer numbers.
Want to act like a boss and step it up even further? Instead of using purely bodyweight, increase the difficulty and resistance with advanced variations of each exercise, including dumbbell lunges, 1-arm planks, barbell squats, and spiderman push-ups.
Cater the difficulty to your individual fitness level, but focus and push your body to the max. This is all about growth, expansion, and improvement, beyond what you were previously able of doing.
Once you’ve successfully blazed through each circuit, record your progress with the MapMyFitness app, using “Intervals” as the workout type. For anyone that successfully conquers the challenge, you’ll be entered to win a set of subscriptions to Men’s Health & Women’s Health, and stay in the chase for the grand prize — a 1-on-1 workout with Chris Powell.
