This Badass 77-Year-Old Grandma Can Almost Definitely Deadlift More Than You Can [Video]
Everyone, meet Willie Murphy. She is an unadulterated badass. More badass than you or I. She is also a woman and a 77-year-old grandma—no, a COMPETITIVE POWERLIFTER—who can almost definitely lift more than you can. In competition she deadlifts 215 pounds on a svelte 105 pound frame, more than 2x her weight. That is all.
She also pushes cars, shovels snow, hoists grandchildren, and 100% does not want you carrying her groceries. And she doesn’t care what you think of her.
If that’s not inspiration to try something new, be a better person, and crush a few deadlifts today, I don’t know what is. And if you’re a woman who’s still hesitant to step into the weight section, call Willie.
“You see that’s what it’s about. It’s about life. L I F E. Life.” — Willie Murphy
