51 “What’s The Best?” Fitness & Nutrition Questions, Answered In One Line

Top 51 Burning Fitness & Nutrition Questions: 11-22

Diet & Nutrition, Part 2

11. What's the Best Fruit & Nut Bar to Snack On?

Larabar

Simple and pure, most Larabar flavors have only 4 natural ingredients — a combo of nuts, fruit, and spices — and pack a healthy balance of protein, good fats, and fiber.

12. What's the Healthiest Fast Food Restaurant?

Chipotle

There’s no doubt a trip to Chipotle can turn into an absolute dietary disaster, but there are ways to eat healthy — get a burrito bowl with lettuce, rice, salsa, guacamole, grilled chicken, and beans; it has a nice balance of protein, fiber, complex carbs, and healthy fats.

13. What's the Healthiest Energy Drink?

FRS Energy (Free Radical Scavenger)

FRS‘ energy stems from Quertecin and other catechins — uber powerful antioxidants — green tea extract, B vitamins, and some caffeine.

14. What's the Healthiest Flavored Drink?

Honest Tea Zero Calorie Lemonade & Passion Fruit Green Tea

Honest Tea Zero Calorie Lemonade is sweetened with all-natural organic stevia and lemon juice, which can help improve the body’s pH balance and restore overall health.

15. What's The Healthiest Breakfast Cereal?

Oat Bran

While I absolutely LOVE oatmeal, oat bran has more protein and fiber. Both are nutritionally superior to any and all boxed cereal.

1/2 cup: 146 calories, 6 g fiber, 7 g protein, 18% iron

16. What's the Healthiest Carbohydrate?

Quinoa

Quinoa is LOADED with vitamins and minerals, packed with waist-slimming fiber, and contains the most protein per gram of any unfortified grain on earth.

1 cup: 222 calories, 5 g fiber, 8 g protein, 15% DV iron, 30% DV magnesium

17. What's the Best Peanut Butter?

Naturally More

Not only is Naturally More one of the most delicious peanut butter brands, it’s also the healthiest — it has 10 g of protein from egg whites, 4g of fiber, a whopping 4.1 g of omega-3’s from flax seeds, and only 169 calories per serving.

2 tbsp:  169 calories, 10 g protein, 4 g fiber, 4.1g omega-3’s

18. What's the Healthiest Drink on the Planet?

Green Tea

Green tea contains catechins, specifically EGCG —  a powerful antioxidant — which helps fight disease, inflammation, and cancer; increases the body’s metabolism and rate of fat burning; boosts cognitive function and bone density; and reduces the risk of heart disease.

19. What's the Healthiest Cheese, Not Named Cottage?

Goat Cheese

As far as full-fat cheese goes, goat cheese contains more protein and calcium, and fewer calories and fat than most others.

1 oz: 75 calories, 5 g protein, 25% DV calcium

20. What's the Healthiest Milk Alternative?

Silk Unsweetened Almond Milk

Although almond milk lacks protein, it’s low calorie at only 30 calories per cup; completely sugar-free and lactose-free, which makes it great for lactose intolerance; and has a rich combination of vitamins D, E, and B12, calcium, and riboflavin.

1 cup: 30 calories, NO sugar, 45% DV calcium, 25% DV vitamin D, 50% DV vitamin E, 25% DV riboflavin, 50% DV vitamin B12

21. What's The Healthiest Food on Earth?

Kale

Its ridiculous combination of fiber, protein, vitamin A, vitamin C, vitamin K, and omega-3′s for a negligible amount of calories makes kale the king of the nutrition-sphere.

1 cup: 36 calories, 3g fiber, 2g protein, 354% vitamin A, 89% vitamin C, 1328% vitamin K, 134mg omega-3

22. What's The Healthiest Food on Earth, 2

Chia Seeds

I’ll slot them right behind kale due to their higher caloric content — while chia seeds are nutritionally similar to flax seeds, they pack slightly more fiber, protein, and omega-3’s.

1 ounce: 137 calories, 11g fiber, 4g protein, 4915 mg omega-3

You need to look into Quest bars, they blow larabars out of the water.

If you compare the two they are not even close.

Good looking list other than that.

@dr That’s a completely fair point, I should probably make it more specific — it’s now “Best Fruit & Nut Bar”

Cardio before weights or vice versa if I want to do a combo day at the gym?

    • https://www.leanit-up.com/ Bryan DiSanto

Always weights/resistance training before cardio on combo days.

      1. Lifting performance drops dramatically when you do a cardio session beforehand — it depletes stored energy that’s critical for muscular strength/endurance.

      2. Lifting and then doing cardio (preferably HIIT) manipulates stored energy levels in such a way that it amplifies your body’s ability to burn fat, making it a lot more efficient.

Do you still think pure protein is the best RTD shake on the market? What about the new isopure RTD shakes?

    • https://www.leanit-up.com/ Bryan DiSanto

They’re close, but I’m still a bigger fan of Pure Protein. Don’t love the flavor of Isopure or the added arti. colors.
