3. Vitamin Water
Why its fattening:
This is quite ironic.
Vitamins = uber healthy.
Water = uber healthy.
Stick the two together and you get an appalling, uber unhealthy mess. Sure it has vitamins, but so does a multivitamin. Multivitamins also have 125 fewer calories and 33 fewer grams of sugar.
Vitamin Water sounds incredibly healthy, but seriously, it’s just marketing.
Smart swaps:
- Water
- Flavored seltzer
- Unsweetened iced tea
- Iced coffee
- Emergen-C
- 100% natural fruit juice
- Multivitamin
My first choices will always be water, seltzer, unsweetened green tea, and/or iced coffee, as they all have zero or close-to-zero calories.
If you’re looking for an explosion of flavor, Emergen-C and 100% natural fruit juice are both great options with a TON of vitamins and minerals, sans the added sugar, calories, and artificial ingredients.
