Wonderful Pistachios, Trader Joe’s Pistachios Recalled Over Salmonella Outbreak [News]
Today is a sad day.
Wonderful Pistachios officially issued a voluntary recall Wednesday for a limited number of its in-shell and shelled pistachios due to potential contamination with Salmonella.
Impacted brands include Wonderful, Trader Joe’s, and Paramount Farms that were sold throughout the US and Canada.
Check your cabinets. Recalled products are labeled with lot code number: 1510123305901, which sits on the lower back or bottom of every package.
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) is advising anyone with a contaminated batch to toss it (and/or return it for a refund). There are currently 11 identified cases of Salmonella across 9 different states, including Washington, Connecticut, and Arizona. Symptoms include cramping, diarrhea, and fever 12-72 hours after exposure.
For now, sit tight and lay off the green stuff for a while.
