Not sure what to give your fitness-loving friend or family member? Or maybe you’re lost and don’t even know what to add to your own list. We’re here to spark a little holiday inspiration.
We’ve compiled a list of the latest and greatest in health, fitness, and lifestyle gifts for the holiday season. Whether you’re on a budget or looking to splurge on a cutting-edge, cool new tech gadget, these were our 13 top gift idea for 2013.

UP by Jawbone
Last year I received the Nike Fuel Band. It was pretty cool. This year I got the UP by Jawbone — I absolutely love it. The UP comes in three sizes, a rainbow of different colors, and is completely water resistant.
It tracks steps, sleep, diet and overall activity; all of which is elegantly displayed through the companion app. One of my favorite perks is that the battery life is stellar — it lasts about 10 days before you need to charge it again. It’s pretty thin as well, and not too bulky or clunky as other fitness bands can be.
No tech gear is perfect; they all have their glitches. But the UP provides the necessary features you’d come to expect from fitness bands with best-in-class performance and minimal hassle.
Get It — Best Buy or Amazon, $129.99
Bowflex SelectTech 552 Adjustable Dumbbells
[BD] Bowflex’s best product is the one that’s completely portable and takes up the least space. Sure, they’re pricey at $300, but one pair of SelectTech 552 Adjustable Dumbbells rolls 15 separate sets into one — including increments of 5, 7.5, 10, 12.5, 15, 17.5, 20, 22.5, 25, 30, 35, 40, 45, 50, and 52.5 pounds.
That’s 775 pounds of iron condensed into two Transformer-like uber-dumbbells. For anyone that’s confined to a small space or apartment, they’re a godsend.
Get It — Amazon, $299.99
PUSH Strength System
[BD] If you want to blow away your favorite lifting aficionado-meets-early adopter with cutting-edge tech, a pre-ordered PUSH Band (we’ve raved about it in-depth, here) might just be the ultimate fitness gift.
Leveraging a variety of sophisticated tools — including a wearable band, companion app, and analytics web portal — it’s the first fitness tracking system that accurately measures strength and weight-lifting, including metrics like force, power, acceleration.
Companies like Nike (Fuelband), Fitbit, Jawbone (UP), and Garmin all carry fitness tracking devices (FTD) that can’t play in the strength realm; that makes them marginally less useful for anyone that predominantly weight-trains. PUSH is the first FTD that promises to change the game — it’s set to ship during summer 2014.
Pre-order — PushStrength.com, $149
HAPIfork
If you’re anything like me, you shove food into your mouth like you’ve never seen food before. The HAPIfork electronic fork monitors the speed you at which you eat; with a process they call “fork tracking.” It’ll even vibrate when you engorge yourself too quickly.
Meal length, number of fork servings per minute, and intervals between fork servings are all monitored and then transferred back from the fork to the online dashboard via USB drive. HAPI.com even supplies coaching, tips and advice to improve eating habits.
Get It — Amazon, $99
The Tocky Alarm Clock
Do you have trouble getting up and motivated for a morning workout, or just a regular day? Winter months can bring on colder weather and suppress inspiration during the dark early hours. Tocky is by far one of the best ideas for an alarm clock, and the best part — it works.
Tocky is an alarm clock that literally jumps off of your nightstand when the alarm goes off. It rolls around on the floor or whatever surface it lands on until you get up and shut it off. You can even record your own voice (or your mom’s!) and upload MP3 tracks to use as your personalized alarm sound.
Get It — Nanda Home or Amazon, $54-58
Aqua Zinger
I love cutting up fresh fruit and even veggies to give my water a little something extra. But let’s be real, it takes time and planning ahead to add that great flavor to your H2O. Aqua Zinger does it for you, infusing your water with any fruit, veggies and herbs of your choice.
It’s a regular water bottle on top, but the bottom has a grinder that can take fruits and herbs and easily infuse the flavor/zing into your water; all while retaining the pulp inside the bottom compartment. All it takes is one twist and the flavor goes directly into your water. For less than $30, this is probably the best water bottle I’ve ever used. Trust me — it makes drinking water a lot more fun, colorful, and delicious.
Get It — ZingAnything.com or Amazon, $25.99
Nike LunarTerra Arktos Boots
[BD] Nike has always excelled at adeptly intersecting performance with style. Their expansion into boots follows the same legacy — the Lunarterra Arktos Boots are GORGEOUS in all of their sporty glory.
Leveraging Flywire and Hyperfuse technology, they’re rugged, waterproof, and flexible; and the perfect pair of kicks to traverse the elements while standing out in quintessential Nike style. They come loaded in green/brown and all-black for men; blue/brown/yellow and pink/hunter for women.
Get It — Nike.com, $190

Julie Fine
When she isn't spending her extra time as a campus tour guide (Go Tigers!), she's probably scrounging around the aisles of Barnes & Noble or doing some impulse online shopping.
